Autumn Hike to Kjerag (day-hike)

Join Outdoorlife Norway on an autumn hike to Kjerag, and witness the magic of the season’s shifting colours and Norway’s crisp and cool mountain air. For many, the trip’s highlight is standing atop Kjerag’s famous boulder, but the trek also provides hikers with an abundance of breath-taking views over the Lysefjord. Snow, when present, contrasts splendidly with the flame-coloured foliage.  The hike to Kjerag is relatively demanding: you’ll trek 11 km (round-trip) with an ascent of 800 meters in approximately* 5.5 hours.

Guided riding on Icelandic horses

When: March 22nd – December 16th (*Riding trip every Saturday, and week days during School holidays)

Would you like to experience the robust Icelandic horse? Join us on a trip! We arrange riding trips divided after different riding levels every Saturday the whole year. We also arrange riding trips during week days in School holidays like Winter holiday, Easter Holiday, Summer Holiday and Fall Holiday. During the School year, we have Riding School. Guided bike tour, Swords in Rock

Where: Strandkaien 61, 4006 Stavanger

When: March 26th – October 1st (Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 12:00)

Provider: Rogaland Aktiv. The guide will meet you outside the Stavanger train station at 10:00 am. From the Stavanger city centre, we will be heading towards the beautiful Mosvatnet lake. Along the lake, you will experience rich bird life and nice surroundings. Can you imagine that it lives 143 different birds around the water?  When arriving at the three swords in rock (Sverd i fjell) at Møllebukta bay, we will spend plenty of time walking around taking photos. You will probably see a lot of birds, as well as white swans and ducks.


Among elephants and lighthouse

This tour will give you everything. Intimate trails, beaches and a nice lunch in beautiful surroundings. And an elephant.


Paddling in Stavanger's archipelago for beginners

Where: Strandkaien 61, 4005 Stavanger

When: March 31st – September 30th (Monday – Sunday, 09:00 – 20:00)

The English-speaking guide and instructor will take you through this wonderful landscape of small islands and reefs, staying close to land. The length of the journey is adjusted to your skills. As on all our kayak trips, wildlife is stunning. You will see a lot of birds, and if you are lucky, we can see seal and mink. Close to shore, underneath your kayak, you can explore the seafloor. If you paddle very quietly, you might see some fish and crabs. When finishing the kayak trip, back at Kalvoy, we will gather around the fireplace, in a cosy wooden cabin. A nice hot meal will be served from the kitchen.


The Monastery Tour

The area around Fjøløy and the Utstein monastery, offers many kayaking adventures, from open sea to idyllic archipelago. Rogaland Aktiv will take you on a tour you'll most likely never forget, through canals, in open sea and through lakes.


The Oil Tour

Where: Havørnbrautene 52c, 4056 Tananger

When: April 1st – October 1st (every day at 09.00, *must be booked at least three days before)


Guided bike tour to the black cave

Where: Viste, Havørnbrautene 52 c, 4049 Hafrsfjord

When: April 1st – November 1st

As many of our bike tours, this is a must.

The cave, probably formed during the last ice age, is almost 9 m deep, 5 m wide and 3 m high. The first people settled in here around 6000 BC, and used it during various periods up until the age of migration, around 500 AD. You can read about the Viste cave visiting this website: This ride will take between 3-4 hours, depend of the group.


Ryfylke Island Bike Tour (day-trip) Outdoorlife Norway

Rail tricycling

Experience rail tricycling at the old Aalgaard-line. Great fun for the whole family! Two directions available. Figgjo - Foss-Eikeland and Figgjo - Aalgaard. Figgjo - Aalgaard is reserved for "drop-in" guests and takes approximately 40-50 minutes to cycle. Bike-helmet required. Bring your own or loan one for free from us.


Preikestolen Sunrise Hike (day-hike) Outdoorlife Norway

Viking Tour Stavanger

We have embraced this popularity and will launch our brand-new Viking tour in May 2016.

The panoramic tour

A bike tour to the Ullandhaugtårnet will give you view of the city and surrounding areas and nice tour through the forest at the same time.  A short visit to the botanical garden near the tower is included and of course a visit to the Iron Age farm.

Harbour and city island cruise

Activity provider: Gosta AS. Join us for the popular harbour cruise and island tour! First, we sail along the port of Stavanger and do some sightseeing for warmup. You'll see all the landmarks and see the former fishing village from its best side as we cruise along the waterfront. After passing the iconic city bridge we'll go to the city islands.


Pulpit Rock Cruise

Guided kayak tours with Lysefjorden Kayak

Join Lysefjorden Kayak on a guided tour around the Jørpeland islands. 2.5 hours guided kayaktour in the amazing Jørpeland Islands. No kayak experience needed. Safety information, and basic kayak technique given by or guides. Normally double kayaks, but single also possible. We will stop at the Norwegian Stonhenge on one of the Islands! Amazing in sunshine!


Tourist car ferry at Lysefjorden

A fjord cruise on Lysefjord in Ryfylke present spectacular natural phenomena, such as Preikestolen, the Kjerag mountain, rugged scenery and dramatic rock formations. The 42-kilometre-long trip along the fjord reveals its incredible geology and glacial landscape.


Flørli Stairway & Lysefjord Cruise (day-trip) Outdoorlife Norway

Join Outdoorlife Norway on a day-trip to Flørli, which boasts the world’s longest wooden staircase. Cruise through the Lysefjord and view Preikestolen from sea-level. Take the long climb up 4,444 steps to the top of the mountainside, enjoy the fjord views and visit the former power plant village of Flørli.


Guided hike to Lifjell

Where: Husabergbakken 29B, 4032 Stavanger

When: July 3rd – October 31st

Join our trip to Lifjell, the summit close to the city! This trip starts from Dale in Sandnes, and follows the track through varied nature to the top. The hike is relative easy walking, with some demanding parts. At the top, it’s possible to enjoy the view over this region largest city Stavanger, the northern part of Jæren, the North Sea and the islands in the fjord around Stavanger. We also offer this trip in an easy variant, which follows a dirt road to the top.  It’s also possible to order this trip as an afternoon hike.


Guided hike to Man waterfall

Join our trip to Månafossen, Rogaland county’s biggest waterfall with its 90 meters fall! Månafossen is one of the biggest touristattraction i Rogaland, an is the 7th biggest waterfall in Norway. After several great lookout points, we continue to the old mountain farm Mån, and let us inspire of the history from Mån.
