Tananger Deep Sea Fishing Festival
Where: Hummeren Hotel, Tananger
When: June 1st – 3rd
The Fishing Festival in Tananger was the start of the organized deep sea fishing in Norway and Europe. The Stavanger Deep Sea Fishing Club (SDSFC) was founded in 1959 with the aim of getting more tourists to the city. The Fishing festival in Tananger is well reputed among deep sea fishers. The fishing competition lasts for 3 days starting Thursday evening and continues day time Friday and Saturday. Total fishing time is 15 hours.

Where: Sandnes
When: June 1st – 4th
Come visit Sandnes this first week in June. This is the 53rd time Sandnesugå is arranged, and this year the main street Langgata will appear brand new. The renovation is finished, and there is a big diversity of stores, and both these and others stores in Sandnes have great offers. There will be an European Food Market, dance, music and entertainment in the streets. Please see program for details.

Musikkfest Stavanger 2017 (Fête de la Musique)

Where: Different outdoor stages, Stavanger
When: June 3rd
120 concerts – 9 stages – 1 day.
This is an outdoor music event and the purpose is to reveal the musical diversity to everybody that visit Stavanger this day. All concerts are free of charge. This National Music Day is celebrated throughout more than 100 countries across the world.

Altibox Norway Chess

Justin Bieber – “The Big Summer Party”

Where: Forus Travbane, Forus
When: June 9th - 10th
Justin Bieber Purpose World Tour visits Stavanger along with Martin Garrex, Nico & Vince and other artists to entertain at the event “The Big Summer Party” at Forus Travbane. This is the biggest concert ever arranged in Stavanger with a capacity of 36.000 visitors. Children under 14 only in company with adults.

Mablis Music Festival

Where: Vålandshaugen
When: June 9th – 10th 
A music festival close to the center of Stavanger. The Festival welcomes everybody to an event with good music in idyllic surroundings. Food and drinks from local producers can be bought at the event. The Festival is open to everybody, but they do not recommend that you bring children to the evening concerts. Mostly Norwegian artists.

Gabriel Iglesias – Fluffymania World Tour 

Where: DNB Arena, Stavanger
When: June 10th, 18:00
The world known comedian Gabriel Iglesias will visit Stavanger during his biggest and most comprehensive world tour ever. Come see and hear his hysterical voices, fantastic stories and incredible sound effects.

Sola Airshow 2017

Where: Sola Airport
When: June 10th – 11th 
Stavanger Airport Sola celebrates 80 Years Anniversary and they are proud to announce that the world’s premier civilian display team, the Breitling Jet Team will perform at the show. You can also enjoy Saab Safir flying in formation and Frecce Tricolori, the display team of the Italian Air Force and many other different planes, activities and displays. The Majestic
15th - 17th
A new play by Terry Thorpe performed by BATS Theater. The Majestic is a love story set during the second world war. Featuring Jazz classics of the 1930s and 40s. Our story takes place almost entirely in the Majestic Theatre in New York. A hopeful star, Kate, joins the theatre group and soon falls in love with the owner’s son, Harry, who goes off to fight during World War II. While he's gone, Kate, Harry’s mother, and the Majestic Theatre group, including Lucille, a girl with autism taken in by Harry’s mother, struggle to keep the theatre afloat and its players safe from the threat of a local mob madam

Different events in Egersund during this festival. Fishery Day on the 1st, Water Activity Day on the 2nd, Children’s Day on 3rd and Antique Market on the 4th. Come visit the nice coastal town Egersund and combine it with some of the Festival activities.

Shady Night

When: July 1st
FLC and Tou Scene club team up again and repeat the success of Oppztandelse with Shady Night. We will kick start the evening at 20:00 on the terrace with free BBQ, where himself Guse Granola will be spinning vinyl and set the mood. In other words; Here are the beats and treats! Join the summer's hottest club night

Gladmatfestivalen 2017

Kongeparken Family Park

The season at the local amusement park Kongeparken has started, and they are pleased to welcome you to the headquarters for Magic and Excitement! Explore the local culture and go on an adventure. A great way to get acquainted with the city of Stavanger! Patrick Doherty, a former guide with Guide Companiet, has kindly offered to provide his services to INN and conduct ta City Tour for our members. This is your chance to have all questions answered regarding architecture, monuments and buildings. Highlights include the history of the Stavanger Cathedral, Old Stavanger, The Valberg Tower and the harbor area.

Stavanger Kulturhus arranges different activities in June, for example comic nights on Thursdays, Norwegian conversation groups on different levels (Språkkafe), board games, International Culture Café (Internasjonal kulturkafe) in Nytorget, various courses, movies on the cinematek and workshops.

Sola Kulturhus invites you all to Kite Festival on the Hellestø Beach on the 11th June. If you wish, you can make your own Kite the day before in the Kulturhus. Other activities are performances by Sola Kulturskole and concerts by local artists every Wednesday. You can come and watch concerts by local artists every Wednesday throughout July, or watch a movie free of charge every Thursday.

Not many events during the Holiday Seasons, Faures Requiem with choir/orchestra on the 11th June, Guided Tour in English on the 17th. Esteemed conductor and YPO Music Director, David Loebel, will lead New England Conservatory’s Youth Philharmonic Orchestra when performing on 1st July. Featured soloist is David Coucheron, who is originally from Norway. He will perform Saint-Säens Violin Concerto No. 3 with the YPO. The orchestra will also perform Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances and additional works by great masters. In addition there will be guided tours of the house in English on the 8th and the 22nd.

You can enjoy the Glass Menagerie by Tennesse Williams (in Norwegian) and Indianeren by Tore Renberg. The Jungle Book (in Norwegian) will be performed in a very urban scenery at Geoparken outside the Oil Museum until the 22nd June. Stavanger Cultural School's theater group Scenious will perform the touching play 'The Herd" on the 8th & 9th June. Dostojevskij’s Crime and Punishment, in a version especially for youth can be seen from the 15th to the 17th July.

Stavanger Art Center hosts two exhibitions from April to August. Inner Life, an exhibition of works by the Austrian artist Kiki Kogelnik. Focuses on a particularly prolific period in Kogelnik’s life, during the 1960s and 1970s, when she was working alongside Pop artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Claes Oldenburg in New York. 
The other exhibition Snap! By Rhys Coren ia an art video exhibition for kids. Coren works across animation, writing, performance and painted marquetry; each media displaying an obvious pleasure in rhythm, form, colour and texture, space and negative space.

Stavanger Energy Conference

Drilling- and Rig Conference

Norwegian Shelf still has many resources left. Major efforts have been done to reduce the well cost, but more is needed to increase the competitiveness in our projects. How much of the reduction of the well cost is sustainable not because of increased efficiency, but because of price reduction and cut in activity? Norway Summit 2017

Språkkafe in Stavanger Kulturhus
Would you like have better Norwegian skills? Language Cafe rapidly became among Sølvberget’s most popular offerings. Many people look for a place where they can meet to practice talking together. Stavanger Kulturhus offers language cafe four times a week. Red Cross organizes language cafe on Wednesdays 10:00 -12:00 and Thursdays 18.30 -20.30. Stavanger Active People Society (SAPS) organizes language cafe on Tuesdays 18:00-20:00 and Saturdays 14.00-16.00. The groups differ in level.
